The 2010 Construction Manager of the Year Awards
The entry deadline for CMYA 2010 has passed and we are pleased to announce another year of record entries! Head adjudicator for the awards Mr. Chris Richards (FCIOB) commented on the high number and standard of entries: “It has been wonderful watching CMYA grow. Not just in terms of the amount of nominees being put forward, but also the high quality of projects they have been working on, and the wider range of Contractors nominating them. It's great to be part of the only awards that recognise individual management excellence in this industry"
Judging for CMYA takes place April through to July, with the finalists announced in early August. The CMYA website will be updated throughout the year and will soon have table booking information for the awards ceremony, to be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on the 14th October 2010. Until then, The Chartered Institute of Building would like to wish all the nominees the very best of luck!
The 2009 Construction Manager of the Year
At the Grosvenor House Hotel on the 27th October last year, David Wilson from Shipley, West Yorkshire was awarded the prestigious title of Construction Manager of the Year 2009 for his work on De Grey Court at York St John University.
David said on winning: “Since starting my career in construction 20 years ago as a management trainee, I have always looked up to managers who could run large, complex construction projects. I feel with the successful completion of the York St John University scheme, I can now apply to join the ranks of those managers.”
