Over 40 Years of Excellence

For over 40 years the Construction Manager of the Year Awards (CMYA) have been celebrating extraordinary individuals who go above and beyond to deliver buildings that make a positive impact on the lives of the people who use them.

What sets CMYA apart

It is not about the project. It is about the person that makes it happen. The construction managers that inspire, lead and enable the very best possible delivery of a project. CMYA are not like any other awards. Our in-depth judging process ensures that the calibre of winners is consistently high. As a result, the awards showcase the best talent and have a reputation for identifying the future leaders in the construction industry.

Entries are accepted between January and March. After that we assess paper applications, visit sites and conduct panel interviews to select the individuals who stand out from the crowd. The names of our finalists are announced in July.

Our judges are concerned with the skills and talents of the individual. Therefore, they visit every shortlisted site and take time to understand the challenges and environment in which the construction manager had to work.

The impact of the award

Winning a CMYA medal is a career defining moment. Construction companies are proactive in selecting their very best people to nominate and remain committed to supporting them through the process. Because they know that the quality of their people is a direct reflection on them as an employer.

The individuals who make it to the finalist stage are eligible to apply for Chartered Membership of CIOB.
