The client was initially concerned about the loss of project knowledge and community rapport stemming from Mark’s appointment as a late replacement for a colleague. But Mark’s early leadership and good communication won the client’s confidence so rapidly and completely that the construction of an office block was brought forward and within the scope of this contract.
Willing to listen to ideas and work through their implications for planning and compliance, Mark’s motivation and commitment shone through. Identifying that user decision-making on such things as kitchens and finishes could make or break the programme, he produced finish schedules and drop-dead dates to drive out the risk. By reverting to a standard default if decisions were not made on time, he drove the programme to a finish five weeks early and smoothly secured the client’s bugbear: NHBC and Building Control sign-off.
